I did really enjoy this dark academia, supernatural type book (it's one of my fave genres - especially for spooky season). The concept itself was great, and I loved the representation that was throughout the book. HOWEVER, the main character is portrayed as weak (referred to as glass about a million times) and I would have just loved to see her portrayed as the badass that she clearly is, with the powers that she has.

Colton - we love him. Secretive, dark, moody. MURDERER. Yeah, I'm onboard with that. But there was just no world building within this novel and I was pretty confused the whole time I was reading it (had to restrain myself from googling, because while I wanted to understand the world but didn't want to stumble upon spoilers). I also think that a lot of the story actually happens off the pages which would have been good to include within the writing (for example, Delaney's roommates seem to always know what is happening with her and Colton and the other stuff, but we don't actually see any of these conversations which makes it confusing).

I think that, overall, this book had the potential to be PHENOMENAL (again, the disability rep is incredible), but it sadly just fell a little short for me.

Unfortunately, this book was not for me. I read it for a book club. The writing is very poor in my opinion. The plot is very obvious, the characters are cardboard cutouts, world building and character interactions (that aren't Lane and Colton just sort of sniping at each other) are non existent, the metaphors and similes are both far too frequent and very badly crafted, among other things.
