This story was HOT!!! Forbidden romance, love and angst. Back and forth. The writing was perfection. The characters were relatable and so much tragedy but mixed with love and some humor. I loved it and I’m immediately reading the second because you’ll know why.

TITLE: Mercy
GENRE: Dark Romance
AUTHOR: Chelle Rose
TROPE: Kidnapping, Daddy/Praise K1nk
TYPE: Series (Forbidden Desires of PCH)
POV: Dual POV
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

Mercy is a quick and spicy read. I enjoyed both Liam and Mercy's characters and their spicy chemistry together. Liam is a pediatric cancer doctor, and Mercy has just graduated from school to become a social worker at the hospital. There is an age gap and taboo trope with Liam being Mercy's best friend's dad.

Overall it was an enjoyable read that ends on a pretty big cliffhanger, but luckily, book two should be out in Oct or Nov. I am giving Mercy a rating of 4 / 5 Stars. I recommend reading the trigger warnings before starting Mercy if you are sensitive to any topics.

Rollercoaster going downhill.

I’m a pretty avid reader & can keep up with several plot/sub plots but this was too much. I think it would have been a lot better with the taboo & adoption & something diff for Nash.
I didn’t love the back and forth relationship, it just felt too wishwashy

2.5 star rounded up.

I have really enjoyed this book. The spice is almost immediate and the chemistry between Liam & Mercy is incredible. There's a few cringey moments, but for the most part, it's a fun read and I do enjoy the plot. There's a few punctuational errors that are mildly irritating, but pretty easy to move past.

Spoiler A frustrating part is when Mercy's dad doesn't approve of her with Liam and she just up and leaves him. I can't fathom leaving someone I love, who I have such a good relationship with, for anyone, father or not. And when her dad calls her a whore? NOPE. I'm annoyed that Mercy just gave up there.

Their reconciliation was amazing though. This author is fantastic at having a great plot, plus hot dirty talk.

That ending... what the actual fuck?!

5 stars all the way, can't wait to start the next one.

Read this if you enjoy:
 * novels intended for matures audiences 18+
 * best friends dad romances
 *sass, steam, and suspense

Meet the Author: Chelle Rose is an avid reader that loves romance. She started at the age of 5 writing song lyrics. After writing her first book she knew exactly where she belonged. Chelle currently resides in Virginia. Between her family and her writing, she stays super busy and loves every minute of it.

Synopsis: Mercy, a brand-new social worker on the oncology unit, has her eyes on one man. The man she has had her heart set on for seven years. Dr. Liam Lexington, a pediatric oncologist has his focus on a pediatric patient who has been diagnosed with cancer not once, but twice. He won’t let Ivy down despite all the heartache she has been through. When Mercy steps in and places her focus on Ivy as well, can Dr. Lexington keep his focus straight? Or will the lines become blurred?

Reader’s Thoughts: Chelle Rose’s goal of reminding us that there’s hope even in life’s darkest moment was well reflected in this novel. This is the first book I have read by Chelle Rose and WOW! I have added her to the top of my favorite author list. Out of the 80 books I have read to date this year, this was by far the best one. At first, I was skeptical when it said there was ridiculous amounts of sex within. But OMG! The storyline within this book was so much more than the sex. And the cliffhanger, WTH! There is no way I can wait for Finding Mercy to come out. Chelle Rose had me hooked the minute I picked up this book. There was not a dull moment throughout.

Favorite Quote: “I didn’t have experience falling in love with my son’s best friend, someone that he also loves. There’s no guidebook for that.”

Trigger Warnings: Kidnapping, Violence, Drug Use, Cancer (Adults and Children), and Death.

This book right here has me feeling all types of ways. Chelle Rose had me with her dedication. I thought I was signing up for a nice simple smut read and boy did she take me for a ride. I got my smut for sure but I got SO MUCH MORE. This book had it all honestly. It had smut, well developed characters, a crazy storyline and most importantly it was impossible to put down. This one is definitely an 18+ read with some trigger warnings.
Mercy is a 23 year old who has had a crush on her best friend's dad, Liam, since she was 16. Mercy is starting a job as a social worker in the hospital where he works and has developed a plan to make him want to sleep with her. The stars align and her best friend, Nash, has a pool party and it isn't long before Mercy enacts her plan. Of course Liam, is very much the male who has decided he will never fall in love and only has one night stands. However, he is unable to resist Mercy and the two soon embark on a relationship that had me sitting on the edge of my seat!
Told with a dual POV the novel starts out very heavy on the smut but soon becomes so much more with the introduction of Ivy. It is here that each character begins to show other sides to their personality. Chelle's characters are well rounded and easy to relate to. She writes this story so well that my major complaint is that I couldn't put it down. I NEEDED to know what was happening next. And boy does she give it to you: cancer, kidnapping, suspense and oh yeah you guessed it A MINDBLOWING cliffhanger. So don't mind me while I go cry because I now have to wait to find out what happens with Liam and Mercy... Go get your copy now. You won't regret it.
