So like the rest of the world, I watched the tv show before I read this and this is something I never do. But honestly, I think it’s one of those things where I actually prefer the TV adaption rather than the book. That’s not saying the book was bad because it wasn’t. There was so much wit in here and I honestly laughed out loud so many times and I really liked reading from Simon and Daphne’s perspective.

- Julia can definitely write and I haven’t read a historical romance for ages so it was nice to read.
- Pacing and plotting was great and I like how we got more of a backstory with Simon.
- THE SCENE WITH SIMON, DAPHNE AND NIGEL HAD ME BAWLING. It was hilarious and I wish this was kept in the show!
- Honestly just wanted to read this one so I can read the next books.

But definitely read this book and please watch the show!
