This book made me feel all the emotions - rage, sadness, fear, helplessness, hopefulness and inspiration. It's hard reading, it's necessary reading. Not just for girls and women, but for boys and men. And in the context of the current DV epidemic in Australia (although the use of the word current feels redundant), the time to read it is now.

Excellent exploration of what consent is, what rape culture is, and how we can prevent one category of sexual assault in future. Australian context but applicable in a lot of other places I think.
Interesting point: women call men creepy when they don’t have enough signals to decide between safe and dangerous. No red flags, but no indication of real safety either.

Fuck yeah Chanel!!!

Insightful read for those with limited knowledge on gender, sex and feminism or with an honours degree in the subject.

Contos knows her shit and has done her research, she even name checks one of my fave feminist scholars Raewyn Connell!

Thanks for making the world a safer place 5👏
