I enjoyed the first book, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, so it didn't come as a surprise that the second book didn't really grab me either. The first book was at least entertaining, but this one was just plain boring. The stakes felt really low, the MC became more annoying page by page and the story was less about adventures and more about politics. I feel like the plot was poorly paced, for the longest time absolutely nothing happened. This whole story might have worked better as a standalone, not a duology.

For Ferrick

Giving it only one star and only because of two of the side characters (Ferrick and Vataea deserved so much better, they have my whole heart).

But overall, this book sucked

DNF at 70%. I hate the way they took Amora in this book.

Heart string pulling ending. I think it gives a good emotional conclusion to the story. Enjoyed. Would read more from the author.

A beautiful conclusion so this Duet. Didn't expect the ending to make me sob like a baby but it did. Great ya fantasy without being a huge series
