The longest short book I have recently read. I never cared about any character and it basically repeats itself the last half of the book.

I really, really loved this book right up until the ending, which was very underwhelming.
SpoilerThe fact that Mitchell is just spending his life farming despite not seeming to enjoy it that much, and the fact that he ends in a place of isolation from everyone he loves, just confuses and baffles me

I loved this book. The first half was better than the second half, and the ending was a bit tropey. I thought it posed some very interesting and relevant questions about climate change and what makes a good life.

A different flavor of climate fiction

I'm a huge fan of disaster lit a la The Coming Global Superstorm and authors like Jeff Vandermeer. This novel seems to me to rest halfway between The Coming Global Superstorm and Vandermeer's Borne. A quick, engaging read.

If I could give this book 3 1/2 stars I would. The main story of the book deserved four stars, but I found the ending unsatisfying and unbelievable.
