Barbara is a Detective from the Forensic  Vampyr Anthropology Department sent to the isolated Alaskan town of Deadhart to investigate a teenagers death. Eerily similar to a crime 25yrs ago, her job is to find out if the killer is human or Vampyr. But as the storm closes in and decades old secrets are revealed who is the real enemy?

CJ’s take on vampires and this does not disappoint! Written in her fast paced and thrilling style, this quickly sets out the main players, the location and the lore involving vampyrs. There is a mix of eccentric, small town characters, the tension between the locals and the Vampyr colony. The isolation of the town and the winter storm gives the whole story a chilling and dangerous edge.

Trademark twists and turns with some gruesome horror moments make this a perfect thriller and has an underlying message of the need for acceptance and facing the sins of the past.  CJ is really in a league of her own with this kind of story and she pulls you along at a frenzied pace, I could not put this down, incredible storytelling!
