I really enjoyed this book. It kept me listening throughout the day wanting to know what was going to happen next. My only issue really is the virgin element and some things that are said that leave me trying to figure out how and why. Otherwise, it’s a fun and entertaining story. I love that it had very little drama. And practically none in the relationship. The consent conversations were important to the characters and that really made an impact on the way they were viewed. I know I loved Holden just a little bit more for his concern.

I will say that out of the five...yes five epilogues, I felt only two were really about this couple. The rest were more to let us know about other characters. It was fun to include but not necessary for the conclusion of this couple’s story.

The narration was top-notch. When I heard it was going to be Ava Erickson and Jason Clarke I could have jumped in excitement. Talk about a dream team narrator pair-up, and they did not disappoint. Props to Lauren for using someone with a believable British accent for a side character. I love how Ava and Jason’s voices complemented each other and has their transitions were smooth and easy to listen to. Five star performances from both of them. The production was great with no issues.

A very good addition to this series of standalones. These charaters and secondary charaters made this story.

Lauren Blakely books are always a treat. I know she's a big baseball fan and love that she is weaving MLB into her newest series. The Virgin Game Plan is just how I like my romance novels- so sweet yet still sexy. The chemistry between our hero Holden and our heroine Reese is fan-yourself hot and I found myself pulling for them to get their HEA amidst their somewhat complicated circumstances and timing. Blakely always drops the greatest Easter eggs in all her books with character and place reappearances, and I even found a Sarina Bowen connection in this book that was so cool!

I am loving this series of interconnected stories involving virgins and baseball players, football teams, and characters with such great personalities. I want EVERYBODY to have a book. (Channelling my inner Oprah) I am hopeful Lauren will make that come true.

The Virgin Game plan is filled with adorable characters that you want for your best friends. Reese is confident but not arrogant, and she's following her passion. Reese is the kind of girl you want your daughter to befriend. And Holden? Wow! He's just incredible. No wonder they matched up so effortlessly.

But what is more impressive? The waiting both did. They knew their connection was remarkable, but that didn't derail their goals or responsibilities. Instead, fates aligned, and they reconnected. Even then, there were more roadblocks, but they persisted. And in the end, it was epic. I got all swoony from reading The Virgin Rulebook, but I do believe this one was swoonier. I loved this book for the usual reasons:
steamy
great story
great characters (EVERYBODY NEEDS A BOOK)
Reese and Holden were two of the most endearing characters ever
and the build-up to Grant and Declan's story has me all up in the feels already.

The Virgin Game Plan is the second book in the Rules of Love series by the fabulous, Lauren Blakely. I am loving this series something fierce! These characters just make me happy! They are all sexy, sweet, funny and talented. I'm envious of their friendship bonds and I want to be friends with the women they fall for! Lauren is the queen character development. She introduces us to them once and we are always eager for more. So much more! The Virgin Game Plan is Holden and Reese's story. It's fresh, flirty, and funny. Holden and Reese met years ago and had an instant connection. They talked, shared things about themselves and both wanted more after the night was over. Fate had other plans and their lives and dreams took them in different directions. Now, it's two years later and they find themselves in the same town, in the same circles. And as soon as they see each other again it's like no time has passed. They want to pick up where they left off. Until her father becomes Holden's new coach. Now she's off limits. But they can't seem to stay away from each other. Is love worth the risk? I love this story! Holden is swoony, sexy, funny and smart. Reese is independent, knows who she is and talented. They are the perfect match. Career driven, but also want to follow their hearts. They show us that both are possible! This forbidden romance made me swoon so hard! The sexy, second baseman and the coach's daughter have off-the-charts chemistry!

I have been on a bit of a Sports Romance kick lately and this was right up my alley.
I always forget that Lauren can bring the steam factor, sometimes she goes light and then other times it’s like hello I need to fan myself.

This book had more steam and the tension but with that authentic connection I love about romance. You root for this couple and your feel sad and happy when they feel sad or are happy.

I liked that we get Holden’s pov about his career but also his feelings.
I loved that Reese is so herself but she too has things she can’t or won’t express and time heals. But also being honest I love that about LB’s books honesty is a big part I relate.
Loved that ending, loved the epilogues wow are we in for a ride I can’t wait!

The narration was freaking fantastic as always. I love when an author gets it. Gets that we audiobook lovers need to feel the connection from the narrators and you really do with these narrators they get it, just enriches the story that much more.

Lauren always brings the right amount of sweet and heat in her stories and Holden and Reese’s story is all of that. I loved how instant they connected and the banter was perfection. Ava Erickson and Jason Clarke bring the swoon in this one!! Another great listen from Lauren, Ava and Jason.

Thank you to Lauren Blakely and her team for the advance reader copy of The Virgin Game Plan, the second story in the Rules of Love series. This story releases on June 9th!

I enjoyed the first book in the Rules of Love series, The Virgin Rulebook so I was excited to pick up another baseball romance from Lauren. This time it is the coach’s daughter trope!

I am a member of Lauren Blakely’s review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true.
