I don't know what purpose this book serves.

If you don't follow politics at all this might be a good introduction to the status of some very important international relations but it's content is too specific and lacking theoretical underpinning to be of wider use.

If you follow politics and international relations at any depth you will likely know the vast majority of what this book has to say. Only occasional pieces of information were interesting to me. For example, that India has fenced off its entire border with Bangladesh, or that in a year, fewer books are translated into Arabic across the entire Arabic speaking world than are translated into Spanish in Spain alone.

Moreover, by its nature, this book will age very very rapidly.

A relatively casual read with a relatively casual recommendation.
