Thoughts about this book:

-I love the overall vibe of this graphic novel. I don't know anything about hockey, but I surprisingly enjoyed reading this. Bitty is just so cute and wholesome. Love him so much. And his friends, especially Shitty, one of my fav characters in the book, are just too pure and wholesome.

-May mga parts na idk what the fuck I'm reading cause I don't know anything about hockey pero I just get along with it lol

-Brittle is so cute. He's such a likeable MC. I wish he could bake me some of his pies too <3

-I just hope that the tweets in the end are put throughout the parts where the events happened. I got bored reading some of them tuloy. Especially kung lagi binabanggit ni Bitty si Jack. It would make their kissing scene much more kilig. Since di ko feel yung build up ng relationship nila throughout the comics.

This was fun! I liked the characters and the story, and it was a really nice lighter book to read.
However. I did have one small issue with it, which is the same that a lot of TV shows and fanfic published as books have- pacing tends to be different when something is published on sort of a weekly basis as opposed to when it's supposed to be kind of consumed in one sitting. So while it was really fun to read, and I did enjoy it, it felt a bit disjointed at times- which makes sense because of the webtoon thing, but is still a thing that happened.
Anyway, apart from that, I thought this was great!

I’ve been a huge fan of this little comic for a long time, and I’m so happy for the recognition Ngozi Ukazu gets – she’s created something really fun and endearing, but at the same time real, emotional, and touching.

Even though I still know nothing about the sport itself (coincidentally, this is a third book about hockey in a row I’m reviewing wtf), it doesn’t matter in the slightest. What I always love about sport-stories is the passion and competitive nature of people involved, and “Check, Please!” has it in spades, along with an enormous amount of heart.

An absolute delight.

So this was adorable? I tried reading this online but I couldn't get into it online, so I figured I would never be able to read it but then I happened upon it at the library and I snatched it up and it was the most beautiful thing I've ever picked up? The Broness of it all in a good wholesome way is kind of what gets me, and when you figure out that they all still love and care about each other no matter what. There's no pettiness between the teammates but they have their own problems and they're trying to work through it as people and as adults and I'm living for it. This series is definitely something that if I have the chance i would buy for myself, and recommend for others even though I don't particularly like sports or know anyone who cares for them either. It's not the sport itself that matters to me, it's the characters and the ways that they matter to each other.
