OK, so the Paranormal Liberation War Arc is in progress, and this is going to be a doozy.

Much of MHA's massive cast crashes together when the heroes make a major strike on the Paranormal Liberation Army. The lineup really emphasizes how gargantuan the cast of MHA is (even ignoring the spinoffs), and brings up something that is both a strength and weakness of MHA. The large cast really sells how much thought Kohei Horikoshi put into his world as different arcs' supporting cast shows the different aspects of hero society. However, the cast is massive, and I'm pretty sure everyone but the most die hard of MHA fans looked at at least one character and was like "Did I see this one before? This one looks like one I've seen before, but I think I'd remember the name or power associated with this design." For me it was the guy from Class 1-B with the earth softening ability who played a big role in one of this volume's fights, but whose name I still couldn't place if my life depended on it. And it's not just me, Horikoshi thought it was best to include a reminder of who Mirko, a major pro-hero in this arc, is after chapter 260. This volume has a large picture of Mirko instead of a character bio page at the start.

This arc is already getting intense and makes the preceding arc light hearted in comparison (reminder: a villain who wants to be killed by a hero takes that hero's adult son hostage, while said hero was training his youngest son and some other teens to fight in preparation for this arc). We've already had one death that was thoroughly heart-wrenching, and some heroes have been flying a lot of death flags.
I think Endeavor, Hawks, and Mirko will be joining Twice in the graveyard before this is over.
I've actually checked out the next three volumes on one of my library's apps.

There are more flaws than just I can't keep this cast straight. A few large panels of action are hard to read because Horikoshi really crams the details in (there's one where I know Mirko does some fighting really fast, but don't ask me what it was). Also, I don't know if my library has a deal with Viz where they get volumes that didn't print right for a discount price, but there are a few panels here where the text in the speech bubbles is cut out. I can get the gist of most of what the characters are saying, but it's not ideal.
