Heroes simultaneous attacks on the hospital and mansion compounds.

I am not ok.

Being our first new giant battle plot following the Overhaul arc, I had a feeling this could devastate me. Only it’s worse now because not only do I love the heroes, but I love the villains as well. All the worse by this being my first full volume of new content and it’s a fucking doozy. There is straight up WAY too much to cover so let me just highlight some moments for me.

My sweet Denki angel. We see this huge front of the line hero charge but included are some of our kiddos, the lovely mud guy and shroom girl from class B and Tokoyami and Denki. Denki is straight up shitting his pants because despite knowing everyone has done work studies at this point we’ve never seen his nor has he been included in the direct villain battles up til now. So he feels woefully unprepared and Denki has never really been great at holding it together. Also the rest of the class is either evacuating citizens or hanging back just in case. But Midnight just assures him they need his quirk for a reason and if he needs further help to think of the person he cares most about right now. AND THIS FUCKING BOY STRAIGHT UP TURNS AROUND AND LOOKS BACK N WE GET PARALLEL PANELS OF HIM AND JIRO THINKING OF EACH OTHER WITH HIS FUCKING HEART THUMPING!!! I’ve NEVER seen a ship more canonically portrayed in this series (even with how obvious Bakugo/Kirishima are

I find the volumes that are 99% action scenes to be less interesting for me, personally. However I liked Mirko’s introduction (though she’s drawn the same way all of the women are drawn).

Update 10/12/2022 - Still a bit of a drag to get through with all the exposition. I’m one of the few fans that was never all that interested in the League of Villains beyond mild interest in Toga and Dabi. Mirko remains a badass! Love seeing her in action.

I’m bummed that it looks like we’ll be waiting maybe 5 more episodes or so before we get anything significant with Bakugo and Midoriya. We’re solidly into Hawks background now.

We get to see the #5 hero in action, Mirko. Her quirk is fantastic, but I love that we also get to see some of the students do some of their best work as well as Hawks and Twice and what's going on with them.
