This was the first book that I read by Murakami and I really loved it. There were some things that I didn't really enjoy but those things didn't take away from the fact that this book was a very enjoyable read and really made me feel real emotions. I do wish the reread this book again when I am older and out of highschool to see how my view about the story will change or if my views will stay the same. I will definitely be reading more Murakami and I will never forget Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki.

es domāju nebūtu tā dzīvība, ja to rakstītu kāds cits, ne murakami.
neļauj anotācijai atturēt sevi no lasīšanas. anotācijas vispār nav jālasa.
iesēdies agrākajā vilcienā un lasi līdz galapunktam.

At first, this book doesn't seem like much special - for Murakami's standards, anyway. But after reading it for the first time, I found that the story had really stayed with me. It struck a chord with me, that makes this book my favourite Murakami that I've read so far.

I’m not going to claim that this book is perfect, but it was perfect for me at the time in my life when I read it. This book deals with how it feels to be abandoned or “ghosted” by everyone who you have ever loved. It also explores how it feels to leave home for the first time, and life in your early 20s. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who us leaving for college for the first time. It is also my favorite book by Murakami which is saying a lot because I have read 9 of his novels. Also, this book has some heavy themes so PLEASE read the content warnings!!!

I personally didn’t enjoy it. Not enough really happened and the ending was too open for my liking.

The ending frustrated me.

Otherwise a great book. A slow slice of life type, situated in Japan. A novel of self discovery. Quite dark.
