Cassandra's father seems much worse on this re-reading than on previous ones. He really is abusive, and she is too forgiving. Different times.

I liked the whole feel of the book and the way it was written. Reading it was kind of like being part of the family and I even loved how the characters made dumb choices with sometimes no regard to the feelings of others, because it made the story more complex and built a reality of its own with sometimes even bad choices being relatable(especially through it all being subjectively told through Cassandra)

the quiz at the end and the questions were also fun and it would improve many books

I found this very hard going, slow and boring. It’s probably not meant for someone who has already become of age which is why I may not have found it enjoyable. I did enjoy the twist at the end where

Rose has left Simon for his brother, although I was still left hoping Rose and Simon would get together and was disappointed when she turned him down to go to America
