I didn’t end up finishing this one.
I don’t know if the reason I didn’t enjoy what I read was because it is meant for a younger age or just because the writing wasn’t for me. Due to this take the rest of the review with a grain of salt.
Some of the problems I had was the way things were described felt cookie cutter and bland. (Like you meet a character and the author immediately describes their hair color and style and what they are wearing)
The world building was good except fact that they said the Milky Way was the whole universe when it is just our galaxy and they implied that other stars were different universes. (Nit picky comment I know, but it threw me out of the world when they explained it)

"If you were given the abilities and power to do something good, you should do it"

Reading and listen at the same time is a total immersive experience, would 1000% recommend it because it made me slow down and really focus on reading all the details. I am waiting for the illustrated editions to come in the mail, but I just kept going back to her instagram to look at the posted drawings like a treasure hunt as I read. Doing so, there are spoilers but the descriptions sometimes tell you which book they are in and only make me more excited to read more of the story.

I found this book from Hannah's instagram. I picked up on the love and passion from the art and all the incredible things she posts. Capturing the magic and whimsy or a whole new world and not making me feel silly for reading a middle grade book is a form of magic. I laughed and cringed as some of the same feelings about middle school can rushing back in different scenes.

The magical world is shiny and fun with a magical gardner. Magic plants take center stage and the Wishing Stars have brought magic to the page. I do admit to being completely biased since I've seen the art and there are massive spoilers. But I still got to read this book and meet our hero at teh very beginning.

If you were obsessed with KOTLC as a kid, you will be obsessed with TAB as an adult.
