I don't write reviews often but with this one I think I should. I also want to give a massive content/trigger warning, specificially about stockholm syndrome, manipulation, physical and emotional abuse, victim blaming, kidnapping, r*pe and of course, trafficking.
The worst of all of this though, for me, was the stockholm syndrome. It's very obvious what's going on with the narrator and it is painful to read. Her view of reality and what's happening is completely screwed and messed up and that was difficult. I can't really say that she was likable, most of the time I felt either pity or annoyance. Also, she's big on victim blaming, which is mostly not her fault but that was also scarring to read. At about 80 percent through it also felt rather like the story was dragging on just for the sake of filling more pages. It could have been shorter. Or maybe the end just felt a little shallow because it was obvious were the story was heading and the rest of it just didn't seem as important.
