A great book; I skimmed some sections and deep dived into others based on my existing knowledge. I am glad to have learnt a great deal about indigenous land grabs and collective resistance through campaigns such as Idle No More, and the significance these campaigns hold for indigenous communities well beyond Canada. I also appreciate the work this book has done on uncovering and revealing the inner workings of institutions ('environmental' and alike) to uphold and support by any means a profit-based and extraction based economic system.
The only drawback for me was that the climate movement moves so fast that this book, having been written in 2012, is outdated in some chapters

I found this book through a goal in the Olio app and seeing my local library had a copy I reserved one out. It has taken me a bit to read but it has been interesting. I liked that the author has written about many countries including the UK and her own experiences with the companies and people.
There is a lot of information to digest and at times too much for me. However, I learnt a lot. Climate change is a real problem that will affect everyone. This past year has made me rethink my own actions and consumerism. The book does depress the matter as my own actions won't be enough.

There are plenty of stories within this book that appeal to a more narrative driven reader than a more hard lined statistical reader. However, there are still plenty of verified stats and trends brought out in this work and I must say it is a compelling a well written document. Klein certainly brings the discussion to the forefront of concern and reveals how many previous movements have failed us. A brilliant read
