This book is moving SO slow. If I was over 50% by now, I’d probably stick it out and finish it, but it’s not holding my attention.

Once the story picked up, it was an easy way to pass the time while "sheltering in place." Rom-coms are helping to keep my distracted.

Lauren Landish knows how to write hilarity! I was laughing one page in, and it just continued as I turned the pages. How she manages to inject just enough sizzling heat into her fun light hearted love stories is absolute genius and I wish it was a formula she could share with others. You will absolutely LOVE Elle from the minute you meet her, and be IN LOVE with Colton Wolfe shortly there after. Such a hot alpha take charge man, but with real depth and secrets when it comes to his family. And Elle was just too cute, I loved everything about her especially her wild spirit. I wish I could have been as daring as her, she'd be my younger self's hero for sure. Their story is funny and HOT and dare I say scandalous LOL, I loved every word and I SO hope we have a Tiff story somewhere down the line!

I stopped reading around the 59% mark and honestly wish I hadn’t forced myself to even get that far. I usually push through books that I’m just bit quite getting into, but this book was not easy to do that with.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the female lead in the book was incredibly immature. A Mary Sue sort of character who was also just grating. Has money, has a nice car, could be in a great position at the company she works at but she is still a glorified receptionist by choice. I just found the dare stuff overwhelmingly obnoxious. She knows she could lose her job but *how could she possibly back down from a dare*!

I tried so hard to get through but I would read one page and put it down because my eyes were constantly threatening to roll out of my face. Let me be clear, I do NOT typically write bad reviews for books. Especially for a genre that I consider to be my guilty pleasure and usually have low expectations for anyway. I feel a little bad about it, but the time I spent reading what I did manage of this book is never going to come back. I hope this saves someone else from wasting time.

I had a great time reading this fun romcom
The Dare is the story of Elle and Colton. Elle and her best friend Tiffany work at Fox industries where Elle’s Dad is VP.

Elle and Tiff enjoy daring each other into doing fun, adventurous or silly things .

One day Tiff dares Elle to do something naughty in their hot British boss Colton Wolfe’s office. But the dare goes embarrassingly wrong and now Colton is daring Elle to work in a project with him... against Elle’s father.

Elle and Tiffany are best friends who love to add a little fun to their lives through a good dare. They work together at Fox and Elle is crushing on the Boss, Colton Wolfe. He finds her in his office in a not so graceful position all because of one of those dates. Feating she has went to far. Colton has her work for him rather then fire her. He is intrigued by her. He thinks he could use a little fun in his own life. Ells and Colton begin their own little game of Dare. Developing a love for each other. Lauren Landish gives so many laugh out loud moments in this book. I love the characters. I really enjoyed it.

Sexy, unpredictable, funny! (Kindle and Audio review)

Another great book by Lauren Landish! She brings the comedy as usual, lots of steamy and sexy scenes, and some great twists and turns to keep you guessing. I never found myself checking to see if the book was almost over like I do with some titles, in fact I was hoping I still had some more story left to go! A couple times the supporting characters especially had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. The narrators were also perfect, especially Shane’s British accent. (I read the Kindle book while listening to the audio.) They were not the same narrators I am finding everyone else using, either. I am starting to find that there are a few narrators who it seems every time I begin an audiobook it happens to be narrated by one of the same few people. I do love those extremely popular narrators, but it was a pleasant switch. Sometimes you want to listen to another voice for a change, and they did an absolutely great job.

The MCs only thrill in live is doing dares with her BFF. Of course she is caught in an embarrasing moment by the english super business man and the rest is obvious. Entertaining but nothing special.

I read two other books by Lauren Landish and I must say that I didn’t think I would like it at all.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised in all aspects. No cliches, well developed characters, well developed plot, no loose ends. This is how romance books should be more like.
