Very frequently, the reading experience feels like visiting one of those white cube galleries where they give you the exhibition title, but no further interpretation, and you’re lost in a big white sea of possible meaning which loops back, in the end, to meaningless.
It’s a cool idea, and I like some of it — the attempts to tell little stories through photo captions work best for me, and I liked the chapter of all the events on the same night too iykyk. But it’s all content and no conclusion, and sometimes even the content is a bit lacking.
ALSO the name ‘Catroina’ exists in this which… is a new one for sure.

This book left me scratching my head on how I should review it.
On the one hand: there are 3-4 of these little vignettes of spookiness that really stuck with me and are some of the finest examples of horror done in the most subtle of ways — Billy Byron, At The Foot of The Bed, Sirena De Gali, Alcatraz, Être Chez Soi, and The Couple
The rest of them seemed a little too ‘modern art’ for me and were too abstract. Maybe I wasn’t in the right mindset or didn’t spend enough time with them.
Overall the book is a solid 2.5-3 stars but those stories I listed would make it a 5 star experience if the others were more like those.
Super unique book. Not for everyone. Certainly not entirely for me, but that’s okay too. Worth checking out!

very neat collection of “ghost stories” in their different interpretations.

Strange and occasionally interesting, but I would be really angry with myself if I spent $40 to buy this book. If you're curious, the library is your best bet.
