This book should be read after both "Farseer" and "Liveship" trilogies. 

Getting to spend time with Fitz and Nighteyes again is such a comfort, getting back in touch with tje world and picking up the threads of their life. 
Hobb's characters always shine abd steal the show, seeing old faces made me emotional and meeting new chatacters was exciting. 

Fitz is slowly pulled back into the world of Farseer politics and the tension and plot sucked you in to this dangerous world.

I love Hobb's writing, world building, storytelling and the way she makes you have such string feelings about her chatacters.

2024: got through this book and really enjoyed it. A big fan of Fitz and the six duchies. Excited to see more of this world unfold, especially with the Witted. 

2023 dnf: A super slow but long high fantasy? Absolutely not in the right headspace to read this, will definitely be returning to it later

Once again, Robin Hobb has me sobbing. I figured out pretty early on that Nighteyes was gonna die, but that didn't make it hurt any less.

It was so wonderful to return to Fitz (now Tom) and the Fool (now Lord Golden) and to return to Buck Keep, albeit briefly. Fitz is reluctant to go back but does so to help out his adopted son Hap. It turns out the prince has gone missing and it is feared he is witted, which is bad news given the current political climate of Buck. 

I'm wondering when Fitz will reunite with Molly and was kind of surprised that it didn't happen in this book. I'm also very concerned about Nettle. And have already started the second book!

Ah, FitzChivalry. 

Over the years I have constantly reread this trilogy, and I am always blown away by the absolute perfection that is Fool's Errand. It is the consummate perfect book for me. The characters are bright and gay, the prose wonderfully rendered, the problems urgent, and the solutions satisfying.

The people of the Six Duchies are horrified of the Wit, a kind of animal magic that some people possess. Some Witted folk are hunted and killed in this book. Though not described in graphic detail, a mob attempts to stone a woman, and in another place, a mob succeeds in hanging over water and quartering another Witted person.
