"That day, she was abducted. But to her, that abduction was a ray of hope -- the beginning of a new life. The girl promises to marry her abductor, and the abductor offers plenty of "happiness." This is the story of an abductor and his victim... How could it be so warm?"

The first thing that should be said about this story is that it is not a romance. Therefore it doesn't cross into the dodgy realm of a victim falling for their kidnapper, especially with one being a minor and the twelve year age gap. The author stated that they wanted to write about "a happiness between two people that's not romantic love, or family love, or even friendship." The situation is one of convenience for the two characters, in which they try to find happiness despite their pasts.

I found this to be an intriguing premise and it plays out nicely. We learn about why Sachi is happy to have been removed from her life,
Spoiler (she was being beaten, bullied and sexually abused)
yet her kidnapper remains a mystery. This is sort of a slice of life story where not too much happens, and yet also has mysteries to keep you hooked and the tension of whether they will be discovered.

Overall I really enjoyed this volume and look forward to seeing where the story goes.

Volumn Read: 1-9
Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I always find it hard to rate manga based on one volume. For me, I need THE ENTIRE series done because "a kid got kidnapped and instead of being terrified she is happy and grateful because her parents never gave her any attention" sounds VERY wrong.

But that is the plot of the story and like most manga, there is a deeper and darker story to it. And I found myself loving that story.

I found loveable characters and monsters. The mystery behind them was intriguing, their pasts unthinkable, their relationship between one another - the kidnapper, the kidnapped, and the detectives - is beautiful.

To me, it's an original story that I haven't read before. I enjoyed the character development for both of our mains and I am EXTREMELY disappointed that the series is ongoing so I'm left at a crucial cliffhanger!

Overall, from what I've read up so far, it is a unique story. While the summary is creepy sounding, the story itself does develop to something that is in an odd area of bitter sweet. I'm excited to see where this will go!
