Never thought I’d be crying over a pew pew book.

I like that we get a lot more Creighton, Aida, and Silandra. I still don’t really *get* Silandra’s whole deal, but I was glad to have some more time with her to try to get it? This felt like a bit of a placeholder book in the scheme of things, so I’m less interested in its own plot than the plots to come. Very action-heavy, which I’m not sure worked well in the audiodrama format.

Thank you Penguin Random House Audio for the free audiobook. The first half of this production really drew me in with the deepening intrigue, but once the battle began, the action was hard to track. The pious droid is a great character.

As a script, this book, despite being almost 500 pages, flies by. Lots of twists and turns, as an investigation pans out, as well as added tension by starting the book when the action begins and then going back a few days to bring us to the action. Well done. Cared about both the characters and the plot.
