OK. Overall, this book wasnât bad. It was well written. I liked the characters. But it was very much exactly Beauty and the Beast, minus most of the plot, and adding sex. The smut in this was great, but it was so short with almost no plot. There are definitely some better versions of this.

We all know why we're here but the writing was awful, the story was vulgar, and the relationship/romance build-up wasn't believable if even there - quite disappointing

When I first started reading this, I realized that this was another literal retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The FMCâs name is Belle, and she lives with her father, Maurice, who has a gambling addiction. Gaston is the evil man who wants Belle and keeps taking advantage of Mauriceâs addiction. So the Beast steps in to pay Mauriceâs debts in exchange for Belle. Nothing new here.
But then⌠then the Beast unleashed himself. And any lingering thoughts I had about the retelling suddenly didnât matter. The Beast was a beast, indeed. Speechless.
Definitely read this for the smut, not the plot. Chefâs kiss, perfection, 10000/10.

Damn! I was not expecting to get so turned on by this! This was my first Jenika Snow book but Iâll be picking up more of her books for sure. This was definitely smut>plot but I was here for it all! The primal, possessive, carnal relationship between Belle and Beast was exactly what I was looking for and throw in the praise and âgood girlâ moments and I was sold!

A short reimagining of beauty and the beast. Where it still follows the story you are use to but the beast never turns into a man. Full of knotting, primal chasing and a possessive beast who only wants his Belle! I absolutely loved this reimagining/retelling of beauty and her beast and all the wicked things the best does to Belle. I can never say no to a monster romance and you wonât be able to too after reading The Beast!

This story was only 122 pages, but I felt like it was 1000 with how long it went on and on and on. I was bored, and you should never be bored during a smut book.
As far as fairy tell retellings go, this was a let down.
