Beauty and the beast retellings are always interesting to see what an author will take from the Disney movie and what they will take from the original tale and how they present the Beast.

This book was just perfect for what needed during the month. It is just short enough that I was able to sit down and read without looking at the book and thinking that I don't have time, and also just an enjoyable read that I needed during a very busy and stressful time. You can't go wrong with a short spicy novella read.
I wouldn't say the spice is overly spicy, there is a thing or two that might turn people off but the scenes themselves were only mild spicy to maybe medium spicy for me. In saying that with this being a shorter read the spice does take up a bit of the page count. Something to keep in mind if you don't want something that have a high page count for spice in comparison with the rest of the book.

It doesn't re-invent the wheel so much as it provides a smokescreen for blatant smut. 10/10 would read again, who needs a plot anyway???

In short, this is a romance fantasy retelling of beauty and the beast, where beast stays in "monster" form.

I was really looking forward to reading a dark monster rendition of Beauty & the Beast, but this book is so absurd that I laughed out loud - and not in a good way. If you are expecting a plot, characterization, emotional development arcs, and basically a story then don't read this. You will find none of it.

BUT if you are wanting a quick read that is 99% k!nk trope monster smut then by all means read on. I personally found the smut to read as less sexy and just plain ridiculous which is why I rated this so low. In my opinion, if a book is going to go all in on monster smut, then it needs to be hot and for me this wasn’t. The writing was so clunky and unpleasent that I ended up skimming the majory of it :/

The Beast follows Belle, whose father sold her to the beast, and she is married before ever meeting the beast, which is said to be horrifying. In the marriage contract, it is said
she is to provide an heir ;).
The book is an erotic monster romance and is very detailed in many erotic elements πŸ”žπŸ”₯🌢😏. There is some violence in the book. (The original Beauty and the Beast tale and the Disney version loosely inspire this short story).

My rating system:
β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… - I loved it
β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜† - I really liked and really enjoyed it
β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†β˜† - I enjoyed it was fun
β˜…β˜…β˜†β˜†β˜† - It was okay for me. It did have things I did not enjoy
β˜…β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† - I was not too fond of it, but others may.

Ehh. Concept was excellent... Execution was not.

I'm glad this was as short as it is because I definitely would not have finished this if it were a full length book.

My biggest issue was the dialogue. It was just so forced and awkward. I kept getting pulled out of the story. My running thoughts were "Ew," and "Why did he say it like that?"

Characters 1-dimensional, horny individuals. 2 sex scenes end of the book are okay, so I gave it 2 stars.

I enjoyed this book for what it was, but I think it would’ve been fantastic as a full length novel. I feel like the emotional connection between Belle and the Beast was there, but wasn’t very developed. Still, it was a super quick, cute, and spicy read.

If you, like me, were seriously underwhelmed by the Prince Adam reveal in Disney's BatB, then this might be for you.

Following the same sort of formula as the original fairytale (ie given/taken by the beast, Belle's dad being the centre of her being forced into the beasts arms, the torchlit hunt for the beast) the common themes are the same HOWEVER the beast isn't cursed and doesn't transform to a blonde weak ass Prince πŸ˜‚

The monster girlies will 100% be here for it, non-monster readers will find it an acquired taste πŸ˜‚

It's very graphic, if you catch my drift, so if you're not into that I'd give it a swerve.

My only issue with the book was I felt we didn't get to see enough of them together initially to see the actual romance form so I'm more inclined to stick it in the far end of the erotic romance subgenre.

Also, they kept referring to each other as husband and wife and I don't actually remember a marriage happening.
