I picked this up the day that Jane Jacobs died. Why do always find out about the great people after they die? So far it looks like a fantastic study of what makes for successful urban living.

Haven't finished _yet_, because I focused on Power Broker to go with the 99PI Reading Club. I'll pick this back up after.

I love this kind of treatise, I agree with her on so much, so much of what she says is sadly still so true, I love the snarky tone and her writing is so sharp. I do think it gets quite repetitive by the end.

I know this book was revolutionary for ita time, but God it was difficult to get through.

I think this book brings up some great insights that are still relevant almost 70 years later about the pitfalls of common urban planning techniques and the aspects that make cities enjoyable to live in, but found it to be overly repetitive and to provide more critiques than solutions.
