I absolutely loved this book. Perhaps second to my fervent interest in science fiction is my now all-consuming love of science fiction artwork and it’s history. As my personal library has grown, I’ve grown fond and familiar with the artists of all the amazing covers in my collection, particularly the renowned Paul Lehr, and this book gifted to me on Christmas by my SO has skyrocketed my obsession with this niche. It was genuinely fascinating to hear the history of the genre’s artwork and from the perspective of one of my favorite artists who’s an expert on the subject. It also left me with a much better appreciation of certain artists and art styles that I never typically liked. While it was a great read, I’m also looking forward to having this on hand in the future as I expect I’ll be referencing it often for many reasons.
