*huge block of exposition* *huge block of world building* *huge block of item/location description*
Anyways, still funny, still a great concept, still love Carl and donut. Lives up to the first in the series, impressively so.

I got a bit tired of all the fighting and grinding at first, but things got picked up quite nicely with the introduction with quests, that were not exactly what I would have expected (to put it mildly).
I was going to take a break after this one, but no way, now I want to know what the hell level four is about.

This whole series is so ridiculous. It should be too much, but Dinniman manages to intertwine these great emotional moments throughout the action and the humor.

I'm so impressed that this book managed to keep
the momentum of the first book. I was a little worried that this series was gonna get repetitive because of the level design. Instead, this was completely unique. This book follows the 3rd floor and continues the main plot. However, it has really great smaller plot lines throughout the book. I really loved the quests storylines. Another one of my favorite things is Carl and Donut teaming up with other people, but also creating more rivalries and enemies. It's nice to get more characters involved in the story.

I can't wait to see what will be different in the third book.

Much as I like the patter and pace of these books, this second book in the series has me feeling quite let down. At its core it's basically misogynistic crap and poor taste jokes about genitals. Princess Donut is true to form, but she's always been a gimmick.

I love the idea of a harm or heal spell being used on an undead Boss, and that was really cool.

Basically a whodunnit plotline could have more clues and fewer piles of dehumanised dead "ladies of the night". What a ghastly idea for a quest.

Yeah I'm not going to bother with the third book unless someone can really change my mind and tell me that the tone picks up. I am not an edgy 14 year old boy any more.. and this doesn't amuse me.

It was still interesting but I think I enjoyed the first book more overall. It got a little creepy/dark there towards the end and I’m not convinced it was necessary. I was really hoping we were going to tackle more in this book than we did since the first one covered earth, level 1, and level 2. Anyways, I anticipate continuing the series.
