Itā€™s 1:30am, I just finished this book and Iā€™m still sobbing, soā€¦ thatā€™s my review.

Very very cute and we stan Macy and Elliot!! Was a slow builder for sure but did set up a good emotional gut punch at the end there. A story of love and loss and how it changes you. I donā€™t love the trope of the ā€œgirl has a boyfriend but finds out heā€™s just average after finding a better guy but letā€™s wait toĀ
break up until the very last possible minute.ā€ Some of the scenes of them growing up were a bit cringe too but at the same time kind of nice to see two people learning about sex and love together which is cringey and awkward in real like.Ā

I liked the ending and the reasoning why I just wish everything else around it was told better. They reunited way too fast and Macy was the worst main character Iā€™ve ever read ever.

He growled way too much

Itā€™s not that I didnā€™t like it. I totally did. Andā€¦ it feels like the Christina Laurenā€™s books all have very similar plots with miscommunication tropes. Elliot is an all time favorite book bf. I think the authors really didnā€™t address how <spoiler > Elliot was sexual assaulted by Emma. It wasĀ  was brushed off as a mistake. I wouldā€™ve liked more about him being supported too and less miscommunication tropes I love Elliot and Macy. If Macy had said half the things she thought during the ā€œnowā€ timeline, the book wouldā€™ve been half as long. Favorite word? You.Ā
