I really enjoyed this one. Jess was a bit hard to take sometimes but I didn't mind his alpha like behaviour that much. I thought he had a huge amount of chemistry with Gigi. I loved Rowen, she was cute!

I wanted to read this series for a while and my sister gifted me this book for my birthday this year. I couldn’t wait to start it and jumped right in and well, I really hope this series gets better as this was a weak first book and I love enemies-to-lovers, but Jess was just downright toxic and rude.

This book has two points of view. The first is Georgia also known as Gigi. She has just uprooted her whole world to start a new life. The unexpected gift of a farmhouse in a small town in Montana is just what she and her four-year-old daughter needed to escape the big-city loneliness. The last thing she needs is attitude from the town’s sheriff, the most attractive jerk Gigi has ever met. The second point of view is Jess also known as Brick. He knows all about women like Gigi. They are beautiful and scheming. She's stolen his sanctuary, the farmhouse that should have been his. But along with a face full of freckles, she’s got a sharp wit and a backbone of steel – something he doesn’t discover until after making a complete fool of himself. If he can earn back her trust and win her heart, he might just find the home he’s always needed.

This book was alright, I think I was expecting so much more because Devney Perry is adored in the book community. I don’t think it helped that I really didn’t like Jess, the man spent six or seven chapters hating Gigi and then found out she wasn’t a bitch so instantly wanted to have sex with her and then had issues when she had trust issues. Gigi wasn’t any better I understand her trust issues, but she gave in way to easily and then spent the next couple of chapters either getting laid or hating Jess. These two are the type that stayed together because they went through something traumatic, and the kid bonded with Jess. The storyline was okay, I would have loved to see more of the bad guy reveal and for Wes to be alive. The only thing that kept me reading this book was to find out who was causing all the trouble in town.

The people who saved this book was the side characters – Roe, Missy, Wes, Silas. I am so excited to read those books because they carried this book to end. The only reason why this didn’t get two stars is because of the dual POV. I would have loved for extra POVs from Everett and Wes.
