A memoir that touched my heart. I will always remember the first time I heard a holocaust survivor speak. I was in high school. Like Leon, he did not let his experience define him, but his experience seemed to reveal him.

Helt OK bok om förintelsens fasor men som vuxen skulle jag välja någon av de andra författaren som kanske Levi som jag tycker skriver bättre om händelserna.

If ever a book should receive more than 5 stars it is this book. If you watched Schindler's List, you will want to read this story. This is the story of Leon Leyson and how he survived the Holocaust. It is a book that ought to be read by everyone. When he talks about how scared he was, and the treatment they all endured, you can't help but feel your heart break for what they went through. Whenever I read stories like this I can't help think about how kids complain about having to go to school, when he would have given anything to be a typical child in school. You will not be able to keep your eyes dry while reading this book.
