This was an incredibly atmospheric and tense journey through the English Civil War from the perspective of civilians. Du Maurier at her best.
the main character becomes disabled and as a disabled person I really appreciated this. It was one of the most honest and raw depictions of disability I've ever read. Heartbreakingly truthful.
