You’re supposed to be able to read it as a stand alone but if I hadn’t read the second book I would be very confused about the whole winter/queen of mirrors subplot. It was a lot of stuff to try and summarize and I don’t think it was done well.

I absolutely loved this book. Sven is a cinnamon roll, who truly cared about Keri. I loved how he showed compassion and strength from the beginning for her.
