This isn’t a very good example of AC’s writing and mysteries. This lacks originality and is very repetitive. It has little to do with Halloween - except the stage of the murder, a party. The characters just repeat the same ideas over and over and it’s very long winded. Even the mystery isn’t very interesting - which is should be since a child died at a party!

Agatha Christie continues to prove to me why she holds the title of "The Queen of Mystery" with each of her books that I read. I was not feeling a murder mystery when I started reading this book; I only read it because it was our October book club pick. I quickly got over that. Agatha draws you right in and leads you down a twisty path, where you only see the end coming once you finally reach it.
Truly an enjoyable read and absolutely perfect for Halloween!

Convoluted relationship among the characters with a pretty straightforward solution.
