Mark was a bit hard to like or feel sympathetic for, but he is a selkie - quite unfettered by emotions for silly humans. Though that changed a bit when Katy showed her true colours - such an awful, awful person.
The plot was pretty predictable, but I'm glad Merenna has her happily ever after.

So honestly, it wasn't too surprising that he was drawn to Merenna - a faery.The plot was pretty predictable, but I'm glad Merenna has her happily ever after.

While Laran is also truly another awful character (yet somehow not as bad as Katy), I have mixed feelings about two awful people magicked to stay together forever in a toxic relationship. Do they really "deserve each other"? Does two wrongs really make a right? Gah.
