A gripping graphic novel (an eARC from NetGalley) about how the Nazis ripped apart families as well as countries. This story follows a family as they hide, run, are imprisoned, released, run again, find safety, lose it, and run again.
The tension of life during war time continues throughout the book as we follow two boys in their efforts to evade capture and reunite with their family.
This would make a great addition to a WWII book club for middle grade readers.

read this for class, feels a little wrong to rate someone’s life, especially when reading in a language i’m not fluent in.

(still it’s really good)

This wasn't at all what I thought it would be. I know it's a memoir, I just thought it would a bit more intense since he was a Jew in ww2. Also, some things just seemed out of place, like they should have been told at a different time.
