I like how it is written. It opened up a lot of things for me to work on and to see things differently

It started off well enough, especially because it established itself as not being “anti-dating”; the author even confesses that they’re still a love addict. But then it just becomes more about the authors journey and spewing out facts about singlehood being good for you and marriage not being all that cut out to be. There isn’t much that’s teaching steps to take to enjoy being single.

I didn’t particularly like the author, and wholeheartedly disagree with some of her “hot takes”, however overall this was an uplifting and empowering read.

As someone who has been perpetually in & out of relationships for over a decade, this book was a necessary read. I’m happy to say I got so much out of it, & finally, in my mid-20s, I’m learning that I’m a complete person all on my own, even without the male validation I chased down for so long. As I get ready to move & start a new chapter in a new city, I will keep Catherine’s words with me, & remember that being coupled up will ultimately only make me 1% happier, & there’s so much I can do with the freedom I have - freedom that women didn’t have the luxury of throughout most of history.
