Uh it was somewhat disappointing. I was expecting gripping true crime stories, but instead, it turned out to be a mix of crime prevention instruction and pretty much a Suzanne Marie Collins' memoir.

Tbh the narrator was terrible and it often made me drowsy. Perhaps this type of book is better suited for reading rather than listening in audio format. Additionally, the writing itself was kinda bad, which ofcourse affected the narration.

The most annoying part was the structure, it was messy. John Douglas repeated certain phrases excessively, made it more boring.

Well the only good thing from the book was the unique perspective it offered by presenting stories from the criminal's pov. Although some cases had been discussed in Mindhunter, delving deeper into these cases still had its own charm.

The way John Douglas writes about these cases hooks you from the start. I love the way he gives you the facts of the case the profile, to build up a picture of how these cases got solved. I liked that he went in depth into some cases, particularly the Suzanne Collins case, and enjoyed the detail about after the trial and their work to help victims of these crimes. I found the chapter on the OJ Simpson case a little bit of a money grab (at the time this was written the trial had just ended) and did not reveal any new info about the case, not least because the FBI had not been asked to profile the case. I do enjoy these books and will definitely read more of their work.
