There were good truths and applications in this book, ways to help you pursue Christ. However, it was very wordy — what could have been said in 17 words he said in 132 words. Some of the wording I would even call “flowery” or “fillers.”
I appreciated the points he made, but struggled to actually read through the book.

I'd give this 10 stars if I could. As someone who struggles with trying to "do," this book was a refreshing reminder that I do not grow in Christ through trying to grow. I grow in Christ by looking to Christ, gazing on him, and dwelling on the gospel. The gospel is beautiful. Along with Gentle & Lowly, this book is going to a be a yearly re-read for me.

Beautiful book that reminds you to look to Jesus! So beautifully written and encouraging to seek after Jesus and strive for Him-everything else will follow. “For every one look at you, give 10 more to Jesus.”

A rare Christian study book that is both inspiring and practical. I absorbed this one slowly. Lots of thoughts and ideas to stop and meditate on.
