I really enjoyed this book. I found it to be an easy read, which kept me interested to the end.

There was a nice cast of characters and some inventive twists and turns.

I am looking forward to taking on the second book now.

After finishing the delightful “Lady Hardcastle” historical cozy series I was on the hunt for a similar read. This was a very pleasing discovery. Posie Parker (A nosy Parker) is a fun character. I am looking forward to the next book.

So-so for a first book in a series. Posie is a likeable enough lead, although at times she was 'sure' of things and declared other things as 'making no sense' without providing me with logical reasoning to back herself up. That smelled a bit too much of plot-no-jutsu for my liking.
There wasn't much of a mystery, in that we always kinda knew who the killer was. The job was to get to him. And for me that worked well enough. (Because I've had it up to here with Agatha Christie wannabes who are marketed as having written the next best mystery ever — only to flop a hundred pages in. It's panful to read of MCs blundering about, unable to figure out something so obvious, it's liable to poke my eyes out. #end rant#)
The pacing and the structure worked well enough to keep me involved, and I listened to this in one sitting.
There was a sprinkle of romance, but no more than a sprinkle, and thank god for that. It was easy enough to ignore.
Also, the resolution of the romance in the next book was good. Not the usual saccharine thing. Bloody Len.

I am not sure why this book received so many negative reviews. I thought it was a wonderful historical mystery novel! Murder, stolen diamonds, secret identities, and a soft romance! What more could you ask for? I loved how dramatic the scenes were. It was an enjoyable read and well recommended.

The first I’ve read of this series. Enjoyable isolation read (listen) with plucky characters and good atmosphere of the era. A bit let down by the ending - some investigation holes?

Such a delightful read! I had a wonderful time, posy Parker is very charming and clever. I always love it, when characters can think oneself out of tricky situations, rather with blunt force.
Sometimes the writing was a little choppy, but i didn’t mind.

This is such an enjoyable book. It's a quick read, and it reads well. The plot line is intriguing enough to keep you hooked too.

Having spent quite a bit of time recently reading and watching the Phryne Fisher novels, which are also set in the 1920's (only in Australia) it was quite nice to get something that's a little less flashy and a lot more 'British', even down to the weather, which is snowy, damp and cold - just the sort of thing to be reading while we have this heatwave. The feel of 1920's London is well evoked, and Posie and Len are likable characters that you want to read about. I was pleasantly surprised and well entertained.

I've already downloaded book 2.

I enjoyed this - it's well written, though light. A "Cozy Mystery" set in the early 1920's - the murdered people are sufficiently unlikable, and the villains are sufficiently nasty so you have no regrets about any of them.
