Turner draws some effective connections and comparisons in this text, although sometimes the sweeping statements about changes/styles/etc. would have benefitted from more evidence/citations. The style of the book is a little awkward - it reads a bit like a dissertation, and parts of it (particularly the final discussion of Wordsworth) feel rushed. Regardless, Turner has definitely done extensive research and this is a great resource.
