Where do I even start with this book? The premise was delicious, all forbidden romance between coach and hot-headed, reckless wonderboy. The spice was spicing and I loved how the relationship was developing from mutual clash of wills and a way of control/distraction to actual feelings that were acknowledged. Then came the cliched horrible female side character arc with typical young adult idiocy that made me skim quite a few pages because the drama was just not adding anything to the story besides pushing the plot downhill.
I understand that there are opportunist, selfish women who would do anything to get what they want but for all the angst and blackmailing that went down, it had no real use in the story than to separate the two MCs for some time for literally no reason. It felt like a cop out and lazy-writing as if the author did not have enough pages written so she added this cruel filler just to mess with the characters.
It's disappointing because for about 70% of the book I was enjoying it a lot. At least the ending was sweet if somewhat unbelievable but we don't read romance novels for believable. We read them for the HEA.

The tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Love the back and forth and the agonising back and forth between them. Hot and heavy with lots of emotion and sexuality exploration. Top feb 24 read
