This is the third in the John Decker series that I have read, and by far my least favorite. The first two were 5-star reads. But this one I struggled to get through. A lot of extraneous dialog not relevant to the story, and with a lot less action. Decker seemed to take a backseat role in this one, whereas he was normally front and center in the previous two. The creature was a bit more vague, with the closest thing it resembled being an alligator with bipedal legs. Plus, this all took place in Florida. And, I just don't like Florida. This one felt strained. And, for the first time I spotted a couple of grammatical errors. Which is usually a first sign of decreasing quality. I hope I'm wrong. Nevertheless, I look forward to reading the fourth installment of the John Decker series.

Not as Good

I really loved the first two books in the series. However, this one took a lot longer to get to the action and then it all ended in just a couple of chapters. I really liked the buildup of the first two books better. I will still continue to read the series and hope the next couple of books are better.
