I enjoyed it but not nearly as much as I think I would have as a child. Just kinda stories that were all over the place and it ended really abruptly.

This book is something that deeply impressed me as a nine-year-old girl, and still impressed me when I was reading it together with my brother, who is nine, 14 years later.

The classic children's story of a feisty red-headed, orphaned girl with super-strength. Pippi reminds me a bit of Amelia Bedelia as she can be quite literal, but she is a good friend to have around. When I saw that Astrid Lindgren was Swedish and this book was set in Sweden, I had to squeeze in a read this summer!

I first read this in 1978, and I loved it. Just reread it; and while I still love Pipp, the story didn't excite me the same way it did when I was a kid.

This is definitely a book to read as a kid, but you realize many problematic themes as you get older.

I’m not going to lie, I found Pippi insufferable. I can see why kids love it and why people are nostalgic about this book, but reading this for the first time as an adult did not endear it to me.
