This book is dark. I wasn’t expecting it to be so intense, especially for a YA, so I guess that can make it not everyones cup of tea.
I did enjoy it overall, I liked the world building and the forbidden love.

I wish the characters of Wren and Lei were more fleshed out than they were.

I loved this book! I couldn't stop reading. I stayed up all night to finish reading this book.

But this book has a reoccurring problem many books I’ve read have lately, a plain MC.

I genuinely could not remember a singular rememberable thing about Lei and her personality, she was more of an audience surrogate than a real MC.
