Just as good the second time, if not better!

Loved the letters sent between all of the characters. Gave such an interesting view of life before, during and after WWII on the island.

Funny and heartbreaking all at the same time.

I was really sad when this book was over. I felt truly immersed in the setting, and I wanted nothing more than to be in Guernsey with them all, attending a meeting of the Society. The ending felt slightly rushed, but it felt complete.

I read this in two big chunks, loving every second and page. Such a simple yet breathtaking book!

I was worried I would get annoyed with the letter reading style. Turns out, I actually really loved it like this. It was so much easier to learn the details and motivations of each character this way. And there was no back and forth dialogue so I think the book flowed very smoothly.

The Netflix movie based on this book was adorable. But the book itself was 10 x more adorable! Much less drama than the movie with more true feelings revealed in the book. Hard to explain. So just read it yourself and watch the movie too.
