On the one hand, I really like this series of books because of the overall plot line. I'm intrigued to know where each of the sisters come from, what their Pa Salt letter is, what their quote is and who Pa Salt is.

On the other hand, I'm not really vibing with the style of writing. It annoys me. It's too lovely. Their voices are too soft and their eyes are too understanding. Their bedrooms are too gorgeous and airy. These descriptions filled me with intense anger and at times, I wanted to fling the book across the room.

Something else that annoyed me is how perceptive the sisters seem to be. I'm not sure if this changes in the rest of the series, but sister number 2 was just as perceptive and feelings-based as sister number 1. (As was sister number 3 with: I knew that Ally was playing for all those she had loved and lost & I studied Felix closely and noticed his rolling gait). In my experience, very few people in the room think deeply about how others are behaving and what internal issues they are going through. It just feels unrealistic to me that both (all?) of the sisters would sit and ponder the personality of the others.

Finally, the way in which Theo was made out to be a hero who we should all love irritated me. I think the story would have been way more interesting if Ally had reflected on the fact that he'd disempowered her and stolen her independence all in the name of love. "No, I'm not going to let you sail because I love you and don't want you to get hurt." Um... excuse me. This is my career too. Stop telling me what I can and can't do.

Overall, I'm not sure if I'll read the rest of the books. I would like to read about Star's development (breaking away from controlling sister number 4) but I don't think I can stand another special, beautiful, deservedly tumultuous sentence.

The second installment of the Seven Sisters series. This sees Ally going through lots of heartbreak before finding out she has a connection to a young, unknown singer, Anna Landvik. The story goes on from there and Ally finds herself wondering why the seventh sister is missing and who her father really was.

Another brilliant read. I love Lucinda Riley's writing style. I can't wait to move on to the next installment.

Really loved this book and is probably one of my favourites in this series! Great main character and completely different story to the first book. I was a little worried it would just get really repetitive though the series but this book reassured me that that would not happen. The plot also wasn’t predictable which was great!
