This is the kind of book that you save the five star rating for. I've read Chevy Stevens before and have always like her books, but this one was by far and away her best one. There is not a word out of place - everything lines up for perfection. I felt the girl's pain and fear and rage. I think it is safe to say that I am a huge Stevens fan from this point on.

Thank you, St. Martin's Press, for a free advanced readers' copy of Those Girls, in exchange for an honest review.

I was extremely excited and honored to receive a free copy of Chevy Stevens' latest novel, Those Girls, as Chevy Stevens is one of my favorite authors. I've read every book she's ever written.

Although Those Girls is highly readable, this novel lacks the charm of her other novels. It's brutally violent and the characters are just too one-dimensional, particularly Brian and Gavin. These two guys are pure evil, which is hardly believable. I also couldn't understand why anyone would go back to a place they were savagely violated to reopen old wounds and risk death. The entire novel was filled with gratuitous violence and swearing, seemingly to keep action in the story. I just found it very hard to believe and also felt Stevens borrowed ideas from her other books to add to the action of this novel. If this is someone's first Chevy Steven's novel, he/she may love it, but it was disappointing in comparison to her other novels for me. I remain a Chevy Stevens fan and look forward to her next novel.

I simply could not put this book down- only once I got to the halfway point. I wasn’t sure if I would finish it before I got to that point and then I couldn’t stop until it finished! I’m excited to read more of Chevy Stevens’ books now.

I had planned on starting this and possibly finishing it tomorrow…..nope….I couldn’t put it down! It had me in tears and pulling for them the whole time.

Not my favourite of her books. I still enjoyed it. It it felt kind of all over the place. I think it would have been better if what had happened in the past was alluded to rather than fully explained for half the book. Like flashbacks or something.

OH MY GOD THIS WAS BOOK WAS SO GOOD.
I received this book from a goodreads First Reads' giveaway anD FRICK FRACK SNICKITY SNACK I'M GLAD I DID.
Quick preview to all you who have not yet read it: You've got 3 sisters; Dani the badass, Courtney the hot one, Jess the quiet one (also our MC). Their dad comes home one night and causes a ruckus and Jess kills him (not a spoiler, it's the last sentence of the prologue). So the rest of the book is all the shenanigans that ensue.
[Trigger warning: this book is really disturbing.. *psst* that's why it's so good]

SO HOLY CRAP THIS BOOK.
Almost every twist took me by surprise and this was rightly named a thriller because I was freaking out at every page. This was actually nerve-wracking to read and I felt so caught up in the intense moments that I could hardly put it down.

When Part 2 began...

Yeah that twist threw me off. I didn't know if it was going to work but it totally did and made the second half amazing.

SO, THE CONSENSUS:
I'm giving this book a well-deserved 5 stars and I hope it becomes popular when it's published because I'm sure all thriller fans will enjoy it.
My only criticism: The cover doesn't do this story justice. The elements are all good, it's just the color scheme I don't like.

I give those girls 4.5 stars. It is truly amazing what these 3 sisters lived through and how it shaped their lives going forward. If your sensitive please read the trigger warnings as this book won't be for everyone. I think I found a new amazing author.

It's been a long time since I read a good thriller with strong female protagonists, and this was came close! Violent scenes and probably needed trigger warnings, and my lower rating is due to the lack of probability of thr events rather than the depth of characters.
