It was just a duel, not a deathmatch. And in the Arena of Skulls, breaking the rules was punished by death.

There are times when I don't have the time or luxury for a simple read or a big chunky tome to past the time either at work or at work. So what do I do? I look for something short I can gaze upon and have fun with, Blood Price is just the book for the job. Set in a dystopian urban fantasy where arena fights are broadcast to a wide audience people fight to the death for the enjoyment and greed of people. Viv, a known warrior survives each day by playing the game smart, figuring out her adversaries and trying to return back to her supposed, "Home" her pitlord provides and survived. Gotta say, Ben Blackwell really hooked me with the premise and Viv despite been a power keg is a lot more then just the deadly warrior, she is pragmatic, full of heart and not a child. She is a fine lead for a short lead, I simply feel this could had been way more better with an extra 50 pages expending Viv but from what I can tell it's a part of another series and it did it's job for making me intrigue about that other series. I'll be sure to check it out but what about you? Do you have what it takes to enter this arena? ;)
