More sexually suggestive than any of Sanderson's other work. It's never explicate, but often suggestive. The art is part of that. I wonder how much of that is because he originally wrote this just for his wife?

I didn't know I needed a Sanderson romance novel, but here we are. Breathtaking art, loveable characters, a very unique world, and a wonderful story. This was utterly fantastic. My new favorite Sanderson standalone.

"This was art. Something the machine, however capable in the technical details, could never understand. Because art is, and always has been, about what it does to us. To the one shaping it and the one experiencing it."

Edit 12/30/23: Definitely jumped the gun a bit with this rating. The ending had me so wriled up that I overlooked the cringe and annoyances I found earlier in the book. Still great, just not a perfect 5 stars.
