Cute.

This was a cute story that kept my attention. I am looking forward to reading more of this author’s books.

This was underwhelming. I found Holly & Evan to be almost devoid of personality, and by the end of the book, I didn’t really care about them.

I thought that this book was very cringey around anything associated with sex, and in this book, that was a lot. The sex talk and scenes were off-putting (mounting is a term that was used) & Evan’s history as a player is thrown around to encourage him to sleep with a reporter so she’ll give a good story about him. A lot of this felt like it was written by a man, and it just felt weird.

I did like the hockey parts & Uncle Teddy was good, but this series is a hard pass for me.

I would say that Evan definitely falls first. I spent a good portion of the book irritated with Holly because she held Evan's non-committal relationships that he had before he met her over his head. I can understand having a little reluctance, but he worked hard to reassure her that he wasn't going to run around on her. Otherwise, this was a soft, low-conflict read. It reminded me of [book:The Playing Game|59490765]. I was also disappointed that Holly did zero groveling. She definitely needed to make an effort to make up for her knee-jerk reactions at the end of the book.

Give. Me. All. The. Hockey. Romance. I don't know what it is about hockey romance that gets me. I watch football, never hockey. But here I am, hooked the second I see "hockey romance". This was another Chirp audio deal that I didn't research and jumped on.

Holly just got a job with the new Las Vegas hockey team as their social media manager. She takes it extremely seriously, but can't help her attraction to start Ukrainian player Evan. And the feeling is mutual. He flirts. She flirts back. It's against company policy to fraternize with the players though so she's got to be careful, especially with Evan pulling all the punches to get her to go out with him. The guy has a reputation as a player and after Holly's past, she's super scared to get involved with him. Will she give him a chance and put her job in jeopardy?!

Meh. It was ok. Spicy in parts, but then got a little boring with it which seems weird. Pretty predictable, but still gave me the happy ending I wanted. Not very memorable, but a decent quick listen.

Not sure if the author knows hockey or not. Really bothered me that the main character had about 30 hat tricks on the season. Also had editing errors through out. Fine content but pretty standard.

Typical sports romance. I expected more depth from a writer like RM.
